Welcome. This website provides an overview of my activities in the research laboratory, classroom, and community. My goal is to find creative points of intersection among these three areas.
Our research program is centered on using modern tools of organic chemistry to create new biomaterials. Our group has particular expertise in polysaccharide modification. As such, we are currently working on projects that involve starch modificaton. We week to understand how targeted chemical modifications can alter biomaterials properties and lead to new hydrogels, biocompatible packaging materials, and bio-relevant composites.
